STORY EXCERPT

“Adam?” Angel called out quietly as she sat in her room holding Adam’s urn the next night. It was almost as if she could feel his presence in her room with her, smell his familiar cologne. She opened her eyes to look around. She was startled when she first saw a faint outline before her.

“Yes, Angel, it’s me.”

“But you’re…” She looked at the urn in her hands just before sitting it on the bedside table and moving backward on the bed.

“Dead…yes, I know, but no matter what I’ll always be here with you.”

She watched as the outline began to look more and more like Adam. She wanted to touch him but when she reached out her hand went through him. She pulled it back quickly and looked down at her hand before looking back at…what? She wasn’t sure. Was this really her husband’s ghost or had she truly lost her mind?

“Why can’t I touch you, Adam? Are you really here or am I dreaming again?”

“Because, my beautiful Angel, I’m only able to come to you this way for now. Without a body it will be impossible to touch you or to feel your touch.”

“So I can see you and speak to you, but I can’t touch you?” She shook her head. She was almost positive that she needed to make an appointment with a shrink and get on some meds. Maybe she was seeing him because of her pain and guilt. She’d finally gone through his belongings that the police had brought to her from his car. That was when she learned that Adam hadn’t been alone in the car and also when she found out why he’d been so distant. She’d felt guilty for hating a dead man. When Adam spoke again it startled her.

“That’s why I have brought Trevor here. His will be the body that I touch you with.”

“What—no.” She shook her head and scrunched up her nose. “Does Trevor know? Has he seen you? I can’t imagine him agreeing to such a thing?” Angel couldn’t imagine someone agreeing to allow a ghost to take over his body willingly. Did Adam actually expect her to let his brother touch her, and in what way? She wasn’t even sure she wanted Adam to touch her after everything she found out about him. There had never been business trips, only love trysts.

“Not yet but he will. He doesn’t know what has brought him here or what’s kept him from leaving. I whisper to him each night, telling him how much you need him. It’s worked so far. I’m not sure how he would react to actually seeing me.”

“I’m sure your brother would be happy to see you.” He’d probably be a lot happier than she was at the moment. She wanted to ask him why—why would he do such a thing to her, but for some reason she just couldn’t bring herself to do it. She thought he loved her, but apparently she was wrong.

“No, not yet and I don’t want you to tell him that you have seen me either. Don’t tell anyone or they’ll think you’ve lost your mind.”

“I’m not so sure I haven’t.” Angel laughed, fidgeting with the bedspread.

“You haven’t, sweetheart. You just have to trust me for a little while. I must go now.”

“Wait, Adam,” she called out but he was gone once more if he was ever there to begin with. How could he expect her to trust him now? She’d trusted him once and look where that got her. She stood and pulled the cover back on the bed and then lay down as fresh tears filled her eyes. She didn’t want Adam to be really gone, but she wasn’t so sure that she wanted his spirit with her either. Maybe he wouldn’t be dead if he hadn’t been cheating. She knew she couldn’t tell a soul or they’d lock her up somewhere and throw away the key.

It took her a while to fall asleep that night. She looked at the spot where she’d seen Adam and then she looked at the urn next to her bed. Had she imagined him being there? It had felt so real. She just wasn’t sure anymore. She’d been so lost and depressed she wasn’t sure that her mind hadn’t been playing tricks on her.

And then there was the part about Trevor, or rather his body. Could Adam actually enter someone else’s body, was it even possible? Of course she’d seen horror movies of people being possessed by ghosts but she’d never believed in them before. Maybe she was just tired and needed more sleep. One thing was certain, she would have to pay more attention to Trevor. Would she even know if Adam did manage to enter his body? Would Trevor talk like Adam and act like Adam? How would she know the difference, and did she even want Adam to do such a thing? If he did would he tell her why she hadn’t been enough for him.

In all truth Angel hadn’t noticed too much about Trevor in the beginning. She’d been too numb from the shock of Adam’s death and the fact of him being an adulterer and now with his reappearance in her bedroom. Trevor had just been there taking care of her. At least now she understood why he was there if Adam was telling the truth. She had been lucky to have him because without Trevor she wasn’t sure she would have gotten out of bed much less anything else. He made sure she got back into some sort of life, or rather more of a routine than anything else.

Angel went through the process of showering, dressing and eating every day, but not much more than that. She hardly ever spoke. She just didn’t have anything to say. She had taken a leave of absence from work so she didn’t have to worry about being anywhere. She just didn’t think she’d be able to help people when she couldn’t manage to help her own self. Now she wasn’t sure what she wanted or what she believed. All she knew was that she was drained as she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

ADULT EXCERPT

Adam bent down behind her, pushing the gown past her hips as he kissed down her back. She opened her eyes and stared across her bed at the picture of Adam sitting on her nightstand. She glanced down at Trevor’s hands on her body. They were so much bigger and rougher than Adam’s smooth, gentle hands had been. It didn’t feel like Adam touching her. She felt as if the real Adam was watching her, judging her, waiting for her to make a mistake.

She knew she could put an end to this no matter how desperately she needed Trevor inside of her, or how much he wanted to be inside of her, she only had to say one word. She felt strange with Adam’s smiling picture looking at her standing there in her panties with Trevor’s hands on her hips and his lips on her neck, even if it was Adam inside of his brother’s body.

A shiver came over her once more as she saw the love she once knew shining there in Adam’s picture. She could almost believe that it was Adam touching her, but in all reality she knew exactly whose hands were on her. She would never let Adam or Trevor know how good it felt to have Trevor as the man touching her. She just wasn’t sure how either of them would take it.

“You look so beautiful,” Adam whispered in her ear before nuzzling the side of her neck. “I can’t wait to have those beautiful breasts in my mouth, against my tongue again.”

Adam caressed her back and buttocks and then one of her breasts, twisting the nipple between his thumb and forefinger as he pressed his hard cock into the back of her, causing her to moan out loud. His other hand slid over her damp panties to lightly touch her clit. She feared she’d come apart at the seams, it had been too long since she’d felt this kind of touch. Even as her mind screamed that this was all wrong, her body craved it.

Angel closed her eyes as he turned them around. She heard him sit on the bed just before he turned her in his arms. He ran his hot tongue over her areola, her nipple peaked hard reaching for the loving warmth of his tongue. Adam sucked it into his mouth. She kept her eyes closed enjoying Trevor’s hot mouth on her as she tried to imagine Adam. It had been too long—almost a year now since the wreck had taken Adam. It was hard for her to comprehend that he was here in his brother’s body.

“Oh, Adam,” she sighed and felt him pause in his touch. She wondered if Trevor was still in there somewhere and hearing her call him Adam bothered him. After all it was Trevor’s body bringing her so much pleasure. She stood straight and stiff as he moved his hands to the elastic of her panties. Hooking his thumbs in, he slowly lowered them as he got on his knees behind her. He urged her to lift one leg and then the other to remove them completely. He surprised her and she let out a shriek when he bit one of her ass cheeks just before he ran his hot tongue over it to soothe the pain away.

“Touch yourself, Angel,” Adam ordered in Trevor’s voice, stunning her for a moment.

Angel looked into the picture of Adam’s eyes as she slid her fingers over her now wet folds. She circled them around her clit, slowly enjoying the tension she was feeling in the tight nub. She felt Trevor’s body behind her urging her legs further apart with his own.

“Put a finger inside that beautiful pussy, swirl it around and then bring it to my lips. I want to taste you.”

Trevor’s voice broke into her thoughts. She’d been caressing herself and thinking of the way he was making her feel as he caressed her ass, his finger moving up and down the crease. Her body felt ablaze with his touch, Adam was fulfilling her fantasies of what it would be like to be touched by Trevor. She barely managed to do as he said and moved her hand over her shoulder as he leaned his face there.

She turned her head and watched as he licked and then sucked her juices off her finger. She could hear and feel him moaning his approval around her digit. Trevor’s deft fingers took over where hers had left off, one filling her aching hole as his thumb caressed over her sensitive clit. She leaned back against his warm hard body enjoying the feeling of his hands on her and in her.

“Do you want me to lick your pussy, Angel?” he asked around her fingers.

“Yes,” she groaned, breathless. Trevor’s magical fingers were still working in and over her. She was on fire.

Chapter One

“Why didn’t you tell me you wanted to fuck me?” Trevor asked in a strong deep voice, stopping Angel in her tracks. She wasn’t sure how to answer him. She wanted him, but could she, or should she come out and say such a thing? She was still struggling with the idea of him being her brother-in-law. Not to mention the trust issues she now had.

Angel Dayne was a twenty-eight-year-old widow. She loved her husband and had for what seemed like forever. Adam and Angel had met in high school. She was a sophomore and he was a senior. They began to date that year and were married when Angel turned eighteen and graduated from high school. Adam was in college by then, taking business courses. She started college that year to become a surgical-trauma nurse.

She had never thought of another man in the entire eight years that Adam and she had been married. She was happy with her life even if she missed Adam horribly each time he went away on his business trips and couldn’t wait for his return. But Adam seemed to be drifting further away from her a little more with each trip he took.

Her world went to hell right after their eighth anniversary. On his way home from another business trip, Adam was broadsided by a semi-truck, killing him instantly. Angel had never felt so alone or devastated in her life as she had the day the police showed up at her home to tell her about the accident and that her husband had died. At least it had been quick and he hadn’t suffered.

That’s also when she met her brother-in-law Trevor for the first time. He was older than Adam and had already graduated and joined the army before she’d met Adam. Apparently Trevor had been sort of the black sheep of the family or at least he was to everyone except for Adam. Angel hadn’t met him in all their years together and so, she was a little shocked when Trevor came to stay with her for a few days after Adam’s death. She supposed he took pity on her because he ended up staying a little longer.

Angel spent most of her time in her room with Adam’s ashes. She’d known that he’d wanted to be buried, but she just couldn’t imagine putting him in the cold dark ground. His parents had disowned her at that point. Trevor was the only one who’d stayed by her side. He would often lean against the doorframe, watching and listening to her talk to Adam’s ashes as if he could answer her back. Trevor never said a word. He merely stood there as still and silent as a statue. It unnerved Angel to have him there, but for some reason she just couldn’t bring herself to make him go away.

In truth she’d been a mess and Trevor took care of her. She actually thought she was losing her mind when she heard Adam’s voice one night as she lay in bed, and then she saw him. Well at least she thought she saw him but wasn’t positive that her eyes weren’t playing tricks on her since she could see the wall and everything else in the room through him. Adam hadn’t said a word and he didn’t stay there but a few moments. Trevor hadn’t been in the doorway that evening so she had no idea if it had only been her imagination or not.

The first time Trevor spoke from the doorway, it was soft yet Angel jumped slightly, almost dropping Adam’s urn. Apparently Trevor hadn’t noticed her because he just continued with the story he had started. It was tales of him and Adam growing up. Stories of when they were young and all the things they’d done together or gotten into. She loved hearing those stories so she remained silent just sitting there listening. Adam had never talked much about growing up so it was all new to her. When she closed her eyes she could almost see the two of them young and mischievous, Adam following his big brother around.

Angel fell asleep that night and dreamed of two little black-haired boys running and playing, but somehow her dream turned and the boys became grown men and then the men began to merge into one man standing before her—Trevor. He was standing there before her as nude as the day he’d been born and he was beckoning to her. Angel was calling for Adam, not understanding what was going on. She could hear Trevor saying her name over and over and then he was touching her. Angel jerked awake to a dark room, but she could see a dark outline just before she felt his touch. Trevor was standing over her bed, shaking her and saying her name to wake her.

“You were dreaming and screaming out for Adam. I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”

Angel was still half asleep when she asked, “Where’s Adam?”

“He’s gone, Angel, you were just dreaming.”

Angel shook her head as she felt hot tears streaming down her face. The dream had felt so real it was almost as if she could have reached out and taken Adam in her arms and held on to him forever. When Trevor sat down on the side of her bed and pulled her into his arms, she felt the wetness of his tears and knew he was crying as well. She wasn’t the only one hurting and missing Adam, so was his brother. She wrapped her arms around Trevor and held him to her, giving comfort as much as she was taking it. She knew somehow they’d get through this together.

* * * *

Trevor woke with a start when Angel had begun screaming for Adam. He pulled on his jogging pants and ran to her room. He didn’t bother to knock. He just opened the door and rushed to her side. He tried calling out her name but she didn’t answer so he bent to shake her, hoping she’d stop screaming and wake up.

“Angel, please wake up you’re dreaming,” he called out and shook her a little harder. It had been six months and he had avoided touching her up until this point. He’d been attracted to her from the first moment he’d laid eyes on her and would have done anything to take her pain away. Adam had sent him photos of their wedding and the two of them together over the years. He knew she was a beautiful woman, but he didn’t realize how beautiful or how sensual everything she did was until he spent time with her.

Her name seemed to fit her perfectly. She looked like an angel. She was small and delicate, her hair so blonde it was almost a silvery white, and looked like silk. She wore it long with bangs, her eyes so blue like the deepest ocean. Her oval face held the perfect hint of a blush, and her lips were full and the perfect shade of pink.

Her body was another matter altogether. She only stood maybe five feet if she was lucky, coming to his chest, and had enough curves to make her body look sinful as hell. She grew her fingernails long, but left them unpolished. Trevor could almost imagine them buried in his back.

He felt guilty that he wanted his brother’s wife, but there was nothing he could do to change the fact. He’d thought about leaving and putting a lot of distance between them but for some reason he couldn’t bring himself to leave her when she seemed to need him so much.

At this moment all he wanted to do was pull her in his arms and heal her—love her. He knew she was still half asleep when she asked where Adam was and he hated that he had to remind her that Adam was gone. It hurt him to have to hurt her, but there was nothing else he could do. He sat down on the bed and pulled her into his arms before he thought better of it.

He felt her hot tears on his chest just before he realized tears were sliding down his own face. She wrapped her arms around him holding him tightly. He inhaled her scent as he buried his face in her hair. She probably thought he was crying over Adam, but he knew it was because he hurt for her loss more than his own.

He knew she’d run if she knew how bad he wanted to make love to her. He wanted Angel more than he’d ever wanted a woman in his life. The feel of her in his arms and the fresh scent of her in his nostrils had his cock wanting to rise. He hoped she wouldn’t feel it. She’d think he was some sort of pervert taking advantage of a grieving widow and that’s exactly what he’d be if he pursued her at this moment so he just held her and comforted her the best that he could.
